Stasia Burrington is a freelance illustrator living and working in Bellevue, Washington. She attended Cornish College of Arts and graduated from the University of Idaho with her BFA in 2010. The illustrations in children’s books and science textbooks have huge influence on her work. She is also inspired by Art Nouveau, ukiyo-e, comics, manga and textile design, among many others. These collages are stunningly beautiful. The drawings are covered by hundreds of flowers hand-cut from quilt fabric, which are then glued on, resembling tattoos, gardens or scars. The pieces are very intimate, sensitive, lush and a little worrying at the same time.
