Adam Miller – Expansion and Decay
Adam Miller is a painter born in 1979 in Oregon. At thirteen years old he began an apprenticeship to artist Allen Jones and at sixteen, he was accepted to the Florence Academy of Art. He traveled throughout Europe studying the work of the Mannerist and the Baroque painters. Miller’s paintings are visually inspired by the Baroque but they still take an approach to contemporary folklore exposing the experience of technological change, questions of progress, and the struggle to find sense in a world poised between progress and decay. Miller has been described as a “master in any era” and a “rising star of realism.”
