Franz Falckenhaus is a self-taught collage artist born in 1975 in Bartoszyce, Poland. He studied and graduated with a degree in Information Technology and Computer related Studies. Although Franz never had any formal training in arts, he always had an interest in film, photography, and collage. Falckenhaus creates these incredible collage works using vintage illustrations and images mixed with found paper materials. He competently combines self-made elements such as shadows, backgrounds, and drawings with cunningly chosen photos to gather them all together into art. It is obvious that Franz’s style shows recognition of his interest and passion for vintage aesthetics. His central theme is thought-provoking, usually shown in a humorous way. Currently he lives and work in Krakow.
