Nich Hance McElroy – Endless Road Trip

Nich Hance McElroy - a wanderer

Nich Hance McElroy is a photographer born in 1985 in Seattle, currently residing in Vancouver. The imagery is divided into a few ongoing series on his website. He often wanders, capturing beautiful landscapes, foggy woods, road trips with his friends’ portraits. On of the series is called “The Great Divide” which is both a hydrologic feature and an intersubjective condition. “Geologically, it defines the western and eastern watersheds of North America: water flows east toward the Atlantic Ocean on one side, and west toward the Pacific on the other. Repurposing physical geography to figurative ends raises questions about other divisions: between humans and the natural world, between subjects, and between phases in human life. Where do things end up on either side of a wedge?”Nich Hance McElroy - cold
