Rithika Merchant is and emerging Indian artist born in Bombay (1986). She got her BFA in Fine Art at Parson School of Design, New York. Currently she lives and works in Barcelona. Her works has been exhibited in galleries of Singapore, Copenhagen, Rio de Janeiro and Barcelona. Rithika’s most recent series deals with comparative mythology where she explores the common thread that runs through different cultures and religions. Similar versions of all these myths, stories and ideas are shared by cultures all around the world. She uses creatures and symbolism that are part of her personal visual vocabulary to explore these narratives.
