Fabian Oefner – Explore the Unseen
If you want to explore the unseen and poetic facets of the natural world, you should view Fabian Oefner’s work. He is an artist and photographer born in Aarau, Switzerland, in 1984. Fabian studied product design at the Northwestern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences before taking on job as product photographer for Leica Geosystems. The artist experiments with color photography, mixing the boundaries between the worlds of art and science to capture the hidden wonders of natural phenomena. Oefner uses different techniques to create these stunning images. Black Hole is part of a series in which he manipulates color using various forces such as pneumatics, gravity, centrifugal and centripetal forces. For his Liquid Jewel series, Oefner painted special modelling balloons with acrylic paints, and then popped them. Through the air pressure in the exploding balloon, the colors began to move away from the balloon and mix together in the most enchanting ways. Fabian’s exploration is an invitation, as he says, “to stop for a moment and appreciate the magic that constantly surrounds us.”
