Tran Nguyen – Therapeutic Art
Tran Nguyen is an illustrator born in 1987 in Vietnam, and raised in Augusta, Georgia. She received a BFA in Illustration from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2009. Tran creates beautiful portraits with elements of surrealism and fantasy. Each painting metaphorically signifies a psychological portrait of human mind. She attempts to create imagery that can be used as a psycho-therapeutic support vehicle. As for media, Nguyen enjoys working with graphite, colour pencils and light washes of acrylics. Illustrating dreams and the unknown is what stimulates the artist’s mind. She believes art is a powerful tool that motivates others to follow their life endeavours. So her primary focus as an artist is to illustrate visuals that will encourage and inspire the viewers who have not found their own purpose yet.
