Vera Elena Solodovnikova – The Earth Without Us
Vera Elena Solodovnikova is an illustrator and artist born in Riga, Latvia. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Arts in London. Her works are always thought-provoking as she is interested in human consciousness and its perception, art, literature, psychology, and aesthetics. In her works she tries to illustrate what the Earth will look like when human beings disappear from the world. According to the imagery, a new era will begin in which animals rule the planet and develop their own customs, belief, traditions, and religious cults. Another series display mysterious and abandoned places where there is no certain time or space. The artist wants to escape from everyday environment. She shows different states of our mind: euphoria, solitude, anxiety, etc.
