Jesse Treece – Absurdly Beautiful
Jesse Treece is a collage artist living in Seattle, USA. He came across a box of old magazine clippings one night and decided to make a visual story out of them which turned into his first collage. Since that time he has been making amazing collages from vintage materials that could be described as striking, surreal, absurd, and slightly disturbing. Jessee finds his inspiration in old newspaper comic strips like “Little Nemo in Slumberland” and “Krazy Kat.” He likes sci-fi novels, architectural drawings and designs from 60’s and 70’s. “I don’t think I have a message that I’m trying to get across, it’s usually more about composition, colour, gut feelings. I’m completely fine with art not needing to have a specific meaning,” he says.
