Marika Cowan is a freelance illustrator and animator currently residing and working in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Illustration. She was born and raised in Maine. Marika finds her inspiration in nature, as she loves hiking, kayaking, camping and everything that makes nature and human connected. So her work mainly represents themes of wildlife, darkness, emotion, narrative, individuality, and the mystery of beautiful nature. A young artist skilfully creates amazing atmosphere in her stories. Her creatures are inspiring and puzzling as they always leave you with many unanswered questions.
